Pacific Seeds warns farmers on blackleg
27 February 2004: Pacific Seeds has warned farmers to follow useage recommendations “to the letter” if they plant its BLT 9 (sylvestris resistance) varieties of canola seed for the 2004 season.
Pacific Seeds supports the Canola Association of Australia (CAA) recommendations that the sylvestris resistance varieties should not be sown on the Eyre Peninsula or around Bordertown, in South Australia, this season, following outbreaks of blackleg in the previously highly blackleg-resistant sylvestris varieties. New hybrid grain sorghum release
24 February 2004: For the first time in four years, leading agricultural seed company, Pacific Seeds has announced the commercial release of a new grain sorghum hybrid. Pacific Seeds Grain Sorghum business manager, Scott Gibson said MR-Bounty, which was trialed as PAC2404, is the first hybrid commercially released since MR-Pacer in 2000-01. View full article |

Local growers check out grain sorghum options
13 February 2004: Around 50 growers and agents from the Dalby area converged on the Griffith's property, "Glenwood" on Tuesday to attend a trial harvest field day. The day was arranged by Pacific Seeds' territory manager, Maree Crawford, who said trials and field days such as these give local growers the opportunity to see the company's grain sorghum varieties in the field in their area. Elite® treated seed pays off - again
06 February 2004: North Star grain sorghum producer, Ross Harris, “Strathaine” received a pleasant surprise over the phone last month, after being drawn as the winner of a Yamaha ATV in the Pacific Seeds/Landmark Elite® Seed promotion. “At first I thought it was someone having a lend of me,” he said. “But I’m really pleased we won, I went in and saw it the other day and I’ll pick it up shortly.” View full article

Dalby field days
04 February 2004: Northern Downs’ producers will have the chance to see new grain sorghum and fodder varieties in the field and in their own area next week at two separate field days. The first, being held a Ray Griffith's property, 10km east of Dalby is being organised by Pacific Seeds territory manager, Maree Crawford.
